Etona suggests redefining cultural policies in Angola

Luanda – The secretary general of the National Union of Plastic Artists (UNAP), Antonio Tomas Ana “Etona”, suggested the redefinition of the policies of Angolan culture, in order to create the concrete bases that develop, value and guarantee greater dignity to the makers of Arts.

Speaking to ANGOP today (Thursday), Antonio Tomas said that the Government needs to redefine the cultural guidelines, improving the economic, intellectual, structural and material policies of the sector.

The Secretary-General recalled that culture shows the genesis of a people, “but today there is culturally unstructured person that absorbs other cultures and knows little about their own.”

The UNAP official considered that the artist cannot depend on others to develop his/her art, but on his/her work and creations.

UNAP is a non-governmental, non-profit, cultural institution working for the fine arts in the country. It was founded on October 8, 1977.
