EU releases 22 million Euros to aid technical education in Angola

Luanda – The European Union (EU) will assist the Angolan government with 22 million Euros to revive the vocational training, training of trainers as well as to review it, announced on Wednesday in Luanda Portugal’s Foreign Affairs minister, Augusto Silva.

The Portuguese official made the announcement during the presentation ceremony o the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Revitalization Project (RETFOP).

The impact of the project is expected to be verified in the improvement of the capacity of the Angolan technical and vocational training by providing to young people with skills to attend current and future needs of the working market in terms of quantity, quality and territorial distribution.

The RETFOP has as main goals to expand the training offer and improve its role and quality so as to provide knowledge and competences to the trainees, which enables them to enter into the working market.

The project jointly implemented by CamAes- Cooperation Institute and of Language, IP and Expertise France is expected to last 5 years covering the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Huila, Luanda, Moxico and Uige.
