Fighting corruption increases international trust – EU

Luanda – The fight against corruption, impunity, openness to civil society and freedom of the press in Angola enhances the confidence of the international community, in particular the member states of the European Union (EU).

The European Union ambassador to Angola, Tomas Ulicny, said that the measures taken to implement good governance strengthened the confidence of the population and the international community, which has come to believe in an impartial and fair judicial system.

The diplomat spoke on Thursday in Luanda during a meeting on “political dialogue between the Minister of Justice and Human Rights and the ambassadors of the Member States of the European Union to Angola.”

In his speech, he considered the reforms under way in the country as “encouraging and positive”.

He highlighted the laws passed in Angola in favor of foreign business and the visits that the President of the Republic, JoAPound o Lourenco, made to Europe, showing his readiness to consolidate relations and show the political and economic environment of Angola, an important step to attract the investors.

In this way, he assured that the relations between Angola and the Member States of the European Union will remain at the “highest level” as the Europeans feel invigorated.
