Fighting corruption requires unity and cohesion of institutions

Luanda – The Attorney General, Helder Pitta Groz, reaffirmed Friday in Luanda that the fight against corruption, in progress in the country, will demand from the institutions that intervene in the process greater unity and cohesion, in order to achieve the desired results.

According to magistrate, who was speaking during a working meeting with the institutions involved in preventing and combating this social evil, corruption must be fought at all times.

In his address, Helder Pitta Groz said that the challenge assumed by the Angolan Government requires the adoption of more transparent behavior and attitudes.

While the national director for the fight against corruption of the Office of the Attorney General (INP), InocA�ncia Pinto, considered as odd the current moment in the country.

Last March, the President of the Republic, JoAPound o Lourenco, created the Directorate for Combating Crimes of Corruption, which centralizes the investigation of this type of cases.

The new institution will act as a new central executive service of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).

The fight against corruption and harmful practices in the public interest has been the focus of JoAPound o Lourenco’s speech since his inauguration as the third head of state of Angola in September 2017.
