FILDA/2018: Aluminum plant produces 33% of its capacity

Luanda – The country’s only Aluminum Factory “Extrulider” has reduced its production to 10 tons/day, accounted for 33 % of its installed capacity, due to the poor demand in the market, said the manager, Tomas Neta.

The USD 20 million plant, based in Viana Municipality, Luanda, can yield 30 tonnes/day, the manager said to Angop at the 34th Edition of International Fair of Luanda (FILDA/2018).

On the use of recycled aluminum scrap, the manager predicted a production of 30 and 40 percent with the investment of USD 5 million made until the end of the year.

Still, he said, Angola does not need to import aluminum profiles, since there is excess in the market.

The emergence of small industries in the country boosts the production of this material that can be exported in the future, he stressed.
