FILDA/2018: Angola Telecom spends USD15 million on 4th generation services

Luanda – Angola Telecom has spent USD 15 million to launch the three new fixed and wireless services of the fourth generations, called LTE, Ponto and Multponto, Dta Center and Sat-3, announced Thursday the coordinator of management commission.

Eduardo SebastiAPound o said so to Angop at the Luanda International Fair (FILDA / 2018), adding that the investment is part of the improvement plan to ensure comfort for customers in accessing the internet and other services.

He said that the measure is also part of the residential customer recovery plan.

The intention is to cover the rehabilitation of the access network that, in some cases, has been vandalized and destroyed by civil construction works throughout the country.

The introduction of this service is intended to cover remote areas where it is not possible to recover the wired network.

In the last eight years, Angola Telecom recorded a decrease of 75% in customers, from 200,000 to 50,000.

The international Faire of Luanda was opened Tuesday by minister of Economy and planning Pedro Luis da Fonseca.

Various telecommunication firms are attending the event, including Angola Telecom, Unitel, Movicel, Zaap,Tv Cabo, among others.
