Luanda – A film entitled An Italian in Angola, from the director Ettore Scola, will be the theme of discussion in the Angolan Writers Association (UEA) on October 17, as part of the institution’s weekly (Wednesdays) debate dubbed Maka a quarta-feira”.

The session is to count on the presence of the Italian ambassador to Angola, , Claudio Miscia, as part of the celebration of the Week of Italian language in the World , in which a comedy/adventure film shot in 1968 in parts of the provinces of Luanda, Malanje and Namibe is to be screened.

According to a note from the UEA, the screening of the film after 50 years shows the solid and old cultural cooperation between Angola and Italy.

The bilateral relationship between Angola and Italy is extended to several areas, taking into account that the cultural exchange gained a new impact through the signing in 2002 of a technical scientific agreement, formally ratified in August 2007.

Italy was the first European country to recognize Angola’s independence on November 11 of 1975.
