The Civil Protection and Fire Brigade announced Sunday that they have put an end to the rubble removal of the building that collapsed at 2am of Saturday in Luanda, with no fatalities recorded, while material damage continues to be assessed.
The information was disclosed by spokesman of the Fire Service, Félix Domingos, underlining the removal of the rubble, which lasted two days, involving 934 staff.
A number of assets have been found amongst the rubble, including 134.7 million kwanzas that are currently in the possession of the authorities who will follow the procedures to return them to the owner, who has not yet claimed the amount.
The building, which belongs to the private company Fundinveste, had already been evacuated by the authorities a few days ago, after technical expertise revealed a risk of collapse.
The incident takes place 15 years after the collapse of the seven-floor building that belonged to the Criminal Investigation Service, also in Luanda.
