Football: Striker Geraldo left out of Angola squad

Luanda – Due to family issues, striker Geraldo has been left out of the Angolan national football team that will face Botswana, on 09 September in Luanda, for the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN2019) qualifiers, set to take place in Cameroon.

This was told by the team’s head coach, Srdan Vasiljevic, during the preparation of the squad for the match.

Toni Cabaca, Mario, Guelor, Show, Dani Massunguna, Paizo, Mingo Bile (1� de Agosto), Gerson, Herenilnon, Job, Mira, Wilson (Petro), Landu, Paty (Interclube), Mabululo (Domant do Bengo), Gelson Dala, Jonatan Buatu (Portugal’s Rio Ave), Va, Chico Banza (Portugal’s LeixAes), Bastos (Italy’s Lazio), Freddy (Portugal’s Belenense), Mateus Galiano (Portugal’s Boavista) and Djalma Campos (Alanyaspor of Turkey).

Burkina Faso and Mauritius are sharing the lead of Group I with three points, followed by Angola and Botswana without any point yet.

Angola lost 1-3 to Burkina Faso in the first round.
