Football/U-17: Angola’s win possible due to ability to overcome

Luanda The Angolan Under-17 Football team’s victory over Canada (2-1) last Tuesday was mainly due to the players’ resilience and capacity to overcome obstacles, the national coach Pedro Goncalves has said.

The Angolan youth team got the second victory in the Under-17 World Cup last Tuesday and was able to guarantee the pass for the next phase of the competition, with only one more game left in the group stage, namely against the host team, Brazil.

Speaking to the press, the coach considered that the team weres very realistic while facing the opponent and the obstacles, and he knew his players had to fight a lot for the victory .

Zine, on the 30th minute and David (90′ + 3′) scored Angola’s goals, while Russel Rowe did it for Canada.

In the first round, the national team defeated New Zealand 2-1. Angola end their first stage journey against Brazil on Friday.
