HOTELS NUMBER INCREASES POSITIVELY IN ANGOLA – MINISTER OFFICIAL

The number of hotels and resorts nationwide has grown positively representing an evolution of the national tourism sector, said Minister of Hotels and Tourism, Paulino Baptista.

The government official was speaking at the first general meeting of the governing body elections of the Association of Hotels and Resorts of Angola (AHRA).

He said that from 1988 to 1997, the country had only 32 hotels under control of Ango Hotel, a State-run hotels company with 39 hotel units under supervision of Improtel, provincial public company, which had 17.512 workers.

According to the incumbent minister of Hotels and Tourism, the country has 194 hotels, 402,000 additional alternatives accommodation, 4.845 restaurants and similar 219.349 workers across the country.

Paulino Baptista stressed that in recent years Angola has received about 592.495tourists through associations that are operating nationwide.
