Tennis players João Neves and Gabriela Martins won on Sunday the first edition of the “Women in March, Tennis Open” played at the courts of the Kikuxi Villas Club Academy, in Viana.
In the men’s final, the CTL player defeated Cleuson Tipewa by two sets 6/3 and 6/2.
To reach the last stage of the competition, João Neves beat Nicolau Monteiro by 3/6, 6/3, 6/2, while Cleuson Tipewa beat Danilson Bento by 6/4 and 6/1.
As for the women, Gabriela Martins defeated her teammate Mirian Tuluca, 6/3, 6/1.
Earlier, Gabriela defeated Mariana Costa by 6/1 and 6/4, while Mirian Tuluca beat Biurca Bento by 6/2 and 7/5.
Camila Zangui, former national champion, who after six years away from the courts, came back and reached the crucial phase of the tournament beating strong candidates.
With the participation of more than 30 players , the winners of the tournament, organized by Kikuxi Villas Club received 500,000 Kwanzas each, a trophy and medals.
