Mausoleum construction project dedicated to Simao Toco presented

Luanda – A Construction project of Mausoleum dedicated to SimAPound o Toco church’s founder, Prophet SimAPound o Goncalves Toco, in Ntaya, Maquela do Zombo, northern Uige province, was presented Friday in Luanda.

This was during a ceremony held at Luanda’s Talatona Convention Center, attended by various figures including political, religious, civil society and faithful members of the Tocoist Church.

The Mausoleum will measure about 60 meters high and a diameter of more than 100 meters.

The monument with various compartments, will bear the tomb of the SimAPound o Toco and his wife Rosa Toco.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the Tocoist Church, Bishop Afonso Nunes, said that the project aims to contribute to the promotion of religious tourism with a place of reference for both Angolans and foreigners.

The first stone for construction of the monument will be launched in February 2019.

The church leader said that the monument will enrich the cultural and religious mosaic of Angola, as well as dignify the Angolan man in particular and the African in general.

In turn, the secretary of the President of the Republic for social affairs, Fatima Viegas, considered the mausoleum a space that dignifies the prophet SimAPound o Toco.

According to her, the monument will allow the Christians, scientists or historians in the social sciences to study the historical course of the life of this prophet.
