MEP TRAINS TECHNICIANS FOR PLANNING SYSTEM

Luanda – The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) is investing in training technicians for the operationalisation of the Planning Information System Platform, the secretary of State for Planning, Milton Reis said today in Luanda.

Speaking at the usual weekly briefing of this ministerial department, the secretary of State noted that the training to be carried out should include the professionals that will be responsible for training the technicians of the National Planning System Organs.

Milton Reis detailed that in a first phase six technicians will be trained, via online, and afterwards four technicians in each study office, with the possibility of reaching 100 trained people in 2021, all over the country.

He explained that the SIP platform aims to report and monitor the levels of implementation of the activities defined and associated to the objectives outlined in the annual National Development Plans (PADN), especially the sectoral (PADS) and provincial (PADP) plans.

He also referred to the sectoral and provincial pluri-annual plans and the plans for Territorial Planning.

On the other hand, he made known that under the scope of the technical and institutional capacity building, training on Public-Private Partnerships is scheduled from 14 to 23 June this year, in coordination with the African Development Bank (AfDB).

This training, he continued, aims to address legal issues, related to contracting technical and consulting services for pre-feasibility studies, preparation of the tender procedure pieces and technical and legal modelling.
