Minister highlights Dom Belmiro Cuica Chissengueti qualities

Luanda – Angolan minister of Culture Carolina Cerqueira Thursday stressed the commitment of Bishop of Diocese of the northern Cabinda province Belmiro Cuica Chissengueti to the evangelisation work.

In her congratulation note on the ordination of Chissengueti as Bishop of Cabinda province, Carolina Cerqueira highlighted the human qualities of the new Bishop.

Among other qualities, the minister also highlighted the Bishop’s spirit of dedication to noble causes and the humility of his character as factors that contribute to the success of the work.

The minister hopes that the work contributes to the strengthening of harmony, solidarity and fraternity among Angolans.

According to her, the recovery of family, civic and patriotic values play a key role in the cohesion of the Angolan nation and the human and socio-economic development of the country based on equal opportunities and shared commitment to building a prosperous and peaceful Angola.

In the document reached Angop Thursday, Carolina Cerqueira reaffirms her sector’s availability to continue working in partnership with the church for the education of society, particularly the young generations, in a spirit of love, forgiveness, reconciliation and peace.

Belmiro Cuica Chissengueti, who takes over from Filomeno do Nascimento Vieira Dias as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Cabinda, was ordained on 30 September.

Born in Chinguar, central Bie province, Belmiro Cuica Chissengueti, was provincial responsible for Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans) in Angola.

He was ordained a priest in May 1996.
