Minister reiterates commitment to most vulnerable people

Luanda – Angola’s minister of State for the Social Affairs Carolina Cerqueira has stressed the programmes linked to improvement of the quality of services and access to education, including higher education and development of scientific and technological research.

The minister was speaking at national meeting on the implementation of social sector programmes as part of the National Development Plan (NDP).

Carolina Cerqueira also highlighted the actions for empowerment of girls, the prevention of early pregnancy, education for all and humanisation of health services, environmental protection and cultural policy.

The minister described the social policies proposed and implemented by the government, under the ruling MPLA party, as crucial for national housing policy.

According to her, the vocational training, the economic and social inclusion of young people, social security and entrepreneurship are also among the government’s priorities.

She said that as priority of its electoral programme, the ruling MPLA party defends the education and health as crucial for integrated and sustainable development
