Ministry approves documents of 20,000 former combatants

Malanje – The Ministry of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Motherland approved this the processes of 20,000 former combatants, in order to benefit from pensions and other rights enshrined in the Law, informed the minister of the sector, JoAPound o Ernesto dos Santos “Liberdade” .

Last Friday, during a visit to the agricultural cooperative “Kudiva Cota”, which works in the municipality of Calandula (Malanje), the Cabinet minister reported that these former combatants did not receive pensions and other rights.

Angola had 42,000 former combatants without registration. At this moment, 22,000 files have yet to be registered, as part of a program that ends later this year.

For the minister, besides the registration, the ranking, registration in the Social Security Fund, improvement of pensions and legalization of land for agriculture are the priorities.

The members of the Kudiva Cota cooperative requested, to the Ministry of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, a ration for the feeding of fish in breeding, motor pumps, vehicles for the aid of fishing activity and transportation of equipment, tractors, among other means.
