Ministry of Public Works supports drought victims

Menongue – At least 38 tons of food and non-food goods were delivered Friday to the Cuando Cubango government, by the Ministry of Construction and Public Works, to support about 350,000 people affected by the drought.

The products delivered by the Secretary of State for Public Works, Carlos Santos, to the local deputy governor for the political, social and economic sector, Sara Luisa Mateus, consist of rice, wheat flour, vegetable oil, pasta, salt, mosquito nets, boxes of margarine, cornmeal, soap, used clothing, covers and bedspreads.

Carlos Santos explained that the delivery comes after similar acts that began in the provinces of Cunene, Huila and Namibe, inserted in the broad appeal made in solidarity with the drought victims in southern Angola.

It is the result of a sympathetic gesture at ministry level of all the companies that have been cooperating with the public works sector for a long time and have voluntarily decided on this appeal which has allowed the delivery of 38 tonnes of food and non foodstuff
