MPLA welcomes President João Lourenço’s diplomatic role

Luanda – The ruling MPLA party has welcomed the “intense diplomatic activity” conducted by the President of the Republic João Lourenço, focused on mediating conflicts hitting some regions of the African continent, with stress to Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) conflict.

In its meeting held Tuesday, the party’s Politburo encouraged the holder of the Executive Power to continue in this path of mediation, aimed to ensure the stability of the region.

Held under the guidance of the President João Lourenço, the 3rd ordinary meeting assessed, among other matters, the analytical and preliminary report of the electoral process”, “general plan of activities for 2023 and the proposed work agenda for the next session of the Central Committee”.

In its communiqué distributed to the press, the BP also welcomes the results achieved by President João Lourenço, as part of the State visit to Norway aimed to strengthen economic relations with the European country.

The initiative reveals Angola’s intention to deepen transparency in economic management, increase scientific and technological knowledge, favouring national companies operating in different sectors, providing new areas of training for young Angolans.

It also predicted the success in the next Conference of Heads of State and Government of OACPS – Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States for achieving the resilience and sustainability of the objectives of its creation.

On Educator’s Day in Angola, celebrated on November 22, it congratulates the class and encourages them to keep carrying out with determination the noble mission of training the generations for development of the country.

As for the 66th anniversary of the foundation of MPLA on 10 December, the Political Bureau appeals to militants, sympathizers and friends of the party and social organisations to actively attend the activities that mark the event.

The BP members also congratulated the National Women’s Handball Team on their 15th win in the Africa Cup of Nations.

MPLA approved the proposals contained in the Work Agenda and discussed the country’s political, social and economic issues, having praised the festivities held on 47 years of National Independence proclaimed on 11 November, 1975.
