National soccer team back after qualifying for CAN/2019

Luanda – The national football team arrived Saturday in the country after securing their chance to show up at 21-19 July African Cup of the Nations (CAN/2019) in Egypt.

Angola beat Francistown of Botswana 1-0 on Friday, finishing the qualifying round in the first position of the group I with 12 points, similar to the second placed Mauritania.

Wilson Eduardo scored for Palancas Negras national team.

Burkina Faso came third (10 points) and Botswana last, with only one point.

Angola have guaranteed their eighth presence in the final stages of CAN, after the country took part in the similar competition held in 1996 (South Africa), Burkina Faso (1998), Egypt (2006), Ghana (2008), Angola (2010), Gabon and Equatorial Guinea (2012) and South Africa (2013).
