Norberto Garcia requests transfer of residence

Luanda – The former director of the Technical Unit for Private Investment (UTIP), Norberto Garcia, asked the Supreme Court to transfer him to his home in the Benfica district of Belas, Luanda.

The accused is serving a sentence of house arrest in an apartment in the Maculusso district, since last September 19, applied by the Supreme Court, following an indictment by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The request for a transfer of residence is being analyzed, according to a source from the Prison Services, which sent Norberto Garcia to the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday to make statements.

Norberto Garcia is pronounced, together with nine other defendants, for the committing crimes of criminal association, manufacture and falsification of titles of credit, forge of documents and use of false documents, attempted fraud, promotion and aid to illegal immigration and influence peddling.

His name is associated with a network of individuals who have fraudulently tried to negotiate a $ 50 billion international financing operation proposed by a Thai company for various projects in Angola.
