Parliament discusses new legal regime for foreigners

Luanda – Angolan MPs will discuss in the generality, the bill on new legal regime for foreign citizens in Angola, during the plenary extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly scheduled for 11 December.

The information was disclosed on Tuesday in Luanda by the spokesperson of the National Assembly, Raul Lima, at the end of the conference of the parliamentary leaders presided over by the Speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

The Cabinet Council approved last September during the ninth ordinary session, the Migratory Policy of Angola, whose aim is to secure an adjusted management of the migratory flow.

The Migratory Policy of Angola must ensure a balanced approach on legal migration issue and combat illegal immigration, secure fair treatment to foreigners legally admitted in the country and promote a close cooperation with countries were these immigrants are from.
