Reviving the breathtaking images of massive and indiscriminate bombardments targeting innocent and unarmed civilians and expressing fervent feelings of indignation at the savage slaughter and genocide taking place in front of a humanity that is dehumanising itself under the blows of a sad and mournful silence.
This is essentially the message of the “Partisans of Palestine” association, which has made it a habit to demonstrate every Saturday in front of the Municipal Theatre in the capital, Tunis, since the start of the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.
Dozens of people took part in the demonstration, waving Palestinian and Tunisian flags and chanting slogans calling for the unequivocal criminalisation of “normalisation with the Zionist entity”.
They were also there to express their unwavering support for the growing momentum of the Palestinian resistance, which is demonstrating unprecedented heroism every day in the face of an Israeli war machine of unprecedented barbarity.
The aim of the rally i
s to demand that the border crossings with Gaza be opened immediately so that humanitarian aid can be delivered to the beleaguered, hungry and thirsty people of Gaza.
Hosni Zouatni, president of the “Partisans of Palestine” association told TAP the demonstrators have come to Habib Bourguiba Avenue, the epicentre of the Tunisian revolution, to make an unceasing appeal for the opening of the border crossings to open up the besieged Gaza Strip and bring urgent humanitarian aid to the civilian population.
The death toll of the Zionist aggression on Gaza continues to rise. More than 12,000 people have been martyred so far, including 4,700 children.
