A policeman, 33, stabbed Monday outside Brazil’s embassy in Tunis has died, said Interior Ministry’s press officer Faker Bouzghaya.
This is a criminal act, Bouzghaya further told TAP. The attacker is a 53-year-old university professor with no political affiliation or terrorist ideology. His family said he had a history of psychological disorders.
The police officer was interrogating the attacker about his presence in the vicinity of the embassy when he stabbed him, the Interior Ministry said earlier.
The assailant was arrested after being shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital.
