Portugal wants strategic partnership with Angola

Luanda – Portuguese president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on Wednesday in Luanda highlighted the political will of the Angolan and Portuguese authorities to raise the relationship between the two countries at a strategic partnership.

The Portuguese president said so at a joint press conference with Angolan counterpart JoAPound o Lourenco, stating that this step can be achieved through the political will and spirit of partnership.

Marcelo Rebelo, who has been in Luanda since last Tuesday, added that cooperation between Angola and Portugal covers all areas of Sovereignty, including Economy, Finance, Society, Culture and Education.

The Portuguese president stressed that the political will that resulted in three state visits in six months, aimed at strengthening the ties between the two countries and, above all, “allowed the countries to look to the future and solve problems.”
