President congratulates Namibian counterpart on country’s independence day

Luanda – Angolan head of State JoAPound o Lourenco Thursday sent a congratulation message to his Namibian counterpart Hage Geingob on 29th anniversary of its independence, on 21 March.

“On behalf of the Angolan People, the Executive and on my own,” I congratulate the “Government and brother People of Namibia for the celebration of the 29th anniversary of national independence,” reads the message reached Angop Thursday.

The Angolan head of State stressed in the letter the progress made by Namibia towards the consolidation of democracy and economic and social development, which has contributed to the strengthening of the joint project of regional integration.

In his letter, JoAPound o Lourenco reiterated the Government desire to continue deepening and strengthening the ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries.

Angola and Namibia relations of friendship and cooperation are based on a common past.

The two countries enjoy cooperation agreements in the various fields including visa-free agreements in the areas of defence, industry, trade, energy, fisheries, public works, tourism, air transport and road transport.
