President voices confident relationship with Portugal

Luanda – Angolan head of State JoAPound o Lourenco Wednesday in Luanda expressed trust in consolidating the cooperation relationship between Angola and Portugal, stressing the 35 legal instruments signed in seven months.

JoAPound o Lourenco acknowledged this at a joint press conference with the Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, adding that 11 of the said agreements were signed this Wednesday morning.

We have the impression that all areas of cooperation between the two countries have almost exhausted, although there will always remain one or another, said JoAPound o Lourenco, who came into office in September 2017.

He added that the understandings reflect the iron will of both countries to cooperate in various fields, in view of development and well-being of the two peoples.

After reviewing the guard of honour, the Portuguese president was privately received by his Angolan counterpart JoAPound o Lourenco.

President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa arrived in Luanda on Tuesday (05) for an official visit to Angola.
