SOUTH AFRICA LOOKING TO EXTEND 16-MATCH UNBEATEN STREAK IN FOOTBALL FRIENDLY VS ANGOLA TUESDAY

EAST LONDON, South Africa’s national football team is looking to extend their 16-match unbeaten streak as they prepare for an international friendly against Angola in East London in Eastern Cape Province.

Confidence is high in the Bafana camp after Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Guinea-Bissau and the team has promised an entertaining game for fans at the Buffalo City stadium.

Four players are doubtful starters because of injury. Erick Mathoho has a skin abrasion and Thulani Hlatshwayo an ankle sprain while Dean Furman injured his groin and Andile Jali dislocated his shoulder in the match against Guinea-Bissau in Durban.

Bafana Bafana interim coach Owen Da Gama said Monday: ” Angola is a strong team and they will do everything they can to win and to put on a good game for the fans who will be there.”

The visitors are not leaving anything to chance. Angola coach Roberto Bianchi Pelliser says they are going to do everything to try and win but also entertain the spectators.

The game is the last preparatory match for Bafana before the start of qualifying matches for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations championships. South Africa have been drawn in qualifying group with Nigeria, Libya and Seychelles. The first round of qualifying matches is scheduled for June 2017.
