South Africans interested in oil from Angola

Luanda – South African authorities Wednesday in Perth, Australia, expressed interest in acquiring oil and gas from Angola.

The South African Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mathashe, confirmed his country’s interest to the Angolan Secretary of State for Geology and Mines, JAnio CorrA�a Victor.

JAnio CorrA�a Victor is leading the Angolan delegation to the Africa Down Under Conference in Perth, Australia, a forum that brings together African and Australian mining entities.

Gwede Mathashe announced his country’s plan to send to Angola a mission to meet with Minister of Mineral Resources and Oil, Diamantino Azevedo, to discuss details about the supply of oil and gas to South Africa.

Trade volume from South Africa to Angola is around 377.7 billion kwanzas, while Angola is of 133.3 billion kwanzas, relatively low due to currency shortages.
