Sports minister returns from UAE

Luanda – An Angolan delegation headed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, returned Saturday afternoon to the country, from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), where she attended the opening of the Special Olympics World Games, held on March 14 – 21.

The government official did not provide any information to the press, at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport in Luanda.

The event hosts more than 7,000 athletes from 170 countries. It account with 24 modalities.

Members of the Angolan Paralympic Committee, namely Antonio da Luz (Secretary General) and Telma Silva (Deputy Secretary General), also took part in the national delegation.

The Special Olympics World Games are an event for intellectually deficient athletes with more than two decades of existence.

Angola was invited to be present to observe and eventually participate in the competition within four years.
