Swedish Embassy supports zungueira women

Luanda – Sweden?s ambassador to Angola, Ewa Polano, stated last Sunday that the Swedish government has a micro finance project to support the zungueiras (street vendor women).

Talking to ANGOP in the David Bernardino Paediatric Hospital, in ambit of The Good Start NGO donation act, Ewa Polano said that the embassy wants to work with women that work on small businesses.

“The zungueira in Angola has great responsibilities, she is the one who supports the home, she is an entrepreneur and the Swedish Embassy support will be through micro finance”, said Ewa Polano.

Entrepreneurship, according to the diplomat, might be a great help for Angolan women who are dedicated to business to get out of poverty.

The Swedish non-governmental organization “The Good Start” offered 400 kits consisting of various products for children admitted to the David Bernardino paediatric hospital, in Luanda.

The kits – composed of sanitary towels, saline, cotton, diapers, wipes, mosquito nets and maze meal – were handed to the hospital.

The donation act is done since 2018 on 08 March (Augusto Ngangula maternity hospital) due to the celebration anniversary of The Good Start NGO mentor, Tânia Nilsson.
