Veteran player Jacques ready to face Kikas’ team in All Star Games

Luanda – The generations game between a team picked by the renowned and veteran player Jean Jacques da ConceicAPound o and a squad of players selected by the former centre of 1� de Agosto team, Joaquim Gomes “Kikas”, scheduled for this April 13 is the main highlight of the All Star Games that will happen in Cidadela pavilion, in Luanda.

According to the spokesman of the event, JoAPound o dos Santos � who spoke last Wednesday with journalists at a press conference � the two basketball legends will themselves select the players for their respective teams.

Jean Jacques, who retired sixteen years ago, won 23 championship titles while he played for Portugal’s Sport Lisboa e Benfica, seven African trophies with the Angola national team and was distinguished by FIBA Afrique in 2011as Best African Player of All Time

He is also among the personalities who were elected in 2013 to join the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Kikas Gomes, who retired in 2013, has won the national championship several times and holds four African trophies conquered through the Angolan 1� de Agosto squad, as well as five African championship titles at the service of the national team.

The next All Stars game is scheduled for April 14 and while involve players of the current national championship.

The event will include a Skill Challenge competition, among other attractions.
