Veteran singer Dia Kimuezo praises ANGOP for valuing culture

Luanda – The “King” of Angolan music, Elias Dia Kimuezo, on Tuesday in Luanda praised the commitment of the Angolan News Agency (ANGOP) in the valorization and dissemination of national culture, with emphasis on music.

He referred that the agency’s role has contributed to the growth and recognition of the country’s culture, at the national and international levels.

Speaking to ANGOP, on the occasion of the 43rd foundation anniversary of the country’s only news agency, marked on October 30, Elias Dia Kimuezo recognized what ANGOP has done in general and as an important factor in bringing the citizens together.

He considered that the achievement is the result of the professional commitment of all ANGOP’s staffs in the materialization of the company’s objectives.

He acknowledged the evolution of the agency in terms of new technology and professionalism, which allow it to provide quality material for

the benefit of the nation.

“I must acknowledge the steps taken by ANGOP, from its foundation to the present date. The effort made so far must be a pride for all citizens (…)”, he stressed.

ANGOP was created in July 1975, under the name Angola Press National Agency (ANAP). At the beginning, its work was distributed in the form of a printed bulletin, and on October 30 of that year it launched its first telegraphic dispatch.

Annually, the company’s anniversary is celebrated on 30 October.
