Vice President of Republic calls for good practice, concord and social peace

Luanda – Vice President Manuel Domingos Vicente said on Tuesday that “solidarity is a good thing in itself” and urges citizens to do good in order to establish harmony, peace, unity and love.

Manuel Vicente was speaking at the launch ceremony of the Social Solidarity Fund, a mechanism for coordinating, raising and distributing donations and funds to vulnerable populations, as well as promoting volunteerism and love for others.

The Vice President said that the Angolans are aware of value of solidarity and that the creation of the Social Solidarity Fund should allow for a faster and better distribution of the aid to those who need it, praising the role of donors.

He calls on Angolans and friends from other countries to join in this edifying movement of giving, solidarity, empowering people, for bright future.

The vice president of the Republic said that fighting poverty and improving the living quality of the population is at the center of the Angolan government’s attention.

“Angola, in its 15 years of Peace, has been following the path of development and progress,” he said.

He recalled that in 15 years of peace, many goals were achieved, with the support of a strong and vigorous and united civil society.

The General State Budget has, over the years, increased the amount allocated to the social sector, noting that for this year, allocated 38.03% to the social sector.
