Menongue – More than 70 million kwanzas is the amount the State and private companies owe to the public water and sanitation company in south-east Cuando Cubango province since 2020.
The local water firm released the data on Monday.
The company’s coordinator, Rodrigues Bongue Malengue, put at 6,200 the number of debtor consumers.
He assured that the non-payment of water consumption prevented the company from improving the distribution of this public good.
He added that in order to reverse the situation the company has been, since 2021, conducting awareness campaign on the paying the debt or they face penalty in the near future.
