Writer defends greater interchange among filmmakers

Luanda – Angolan writer Boaventura Cardoso Wednesday in Luanda defended biggest exchange between Angola and Italy in the field of films, in order to boost the national cinema.

Boaventura Cardoso said while addressing “Maka na quarta feira” talk, sponsored by the Angola’s Writers Association (UEA).

He described the exhibition of the Italian production films as an excellent opportunity to bring together both national and Italian filmmakers in the field of training, creation of debates and research on cinema.

The writer believes that the union among filmmakers is an asset to re-launch Angolan cinema, in need of a new impetus for its development.

He recalled the previous good period of the 1990s and 2000 when the country screened some films in the national rooms and produced many others.
