Saurimo – The Chairman of the General Tax Administration (AGT), Cláudio dos Santos, announced today, in Lunda Sul province, the implementation soon of an integrated electronic system for internal and external trade, where all import and export processes should take place, aiming at boosting tax revenue collection.

According to the manager, who gave this information at a meeting with taxpayers in Lunda Sul, with this system investors will be able to carry out licensing, payment of fees, amongst other services inherent to customs activities, without the need to travel to a tax office or customs delegation.

At the time, Cláudio Paulino dos Santos explained that the initiative was part of public policies to improve the business environment in the country.

He said that whilst the system, which will be called the “Single Window” is being developed, an intermediate programme was underway to ensure that the main systems of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), the Ministry of Trade, Agriculture, Health and AGT interfaced with each other, with a view to avoiding bureaucracy in the provision of customs services.

The project is part of the tax administration modernisation programme, which aims to bring the institution’s services closer to taxpayers, via reforms of technological systems, which began in 2010.
