Icolo e bengo: At least 10 people died early Sunday and 34 others were injured following a road accident on National Road (EN)100/South, in the municipality of Cabo Ledo, Icolo e Bengo province. The incident took place around 5:00 am near Sangano beach when a bus, owned by a transport company and traveling from Huila province, veered off the road and overturned. The bus was carrying 42 occupants at the time of the accident.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the passengers on the bus were all residents of Luanda. They were returning from the VI National Meeting for Reflection on the Quality of Nursing and Teaching, which was held in Lubango. Emergency services, including firefighters, responded to the scene to assist the victims.
The injured survivors, some in serious condition, were promptly evacuated to medical facilities in Luanda for treatment.
