Higher education and scientific research digital library based on artificial intelligence to be launched soon

Tunsi: A higher education and scientific research digital library based on artificial intelligence will be launched soon in Tunisia. It will allow students, teachers and researchers to access a wide range of scientific resources such as books, courses and conferences.

«This digital library, which is the first of its kind in Tunisia, was initiated by a number of Tunisian specialists,» said former Finance Minister Mohamed Nizar Yaiche, who presented this project at the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry.

This digital library will be operational at the start of the next academic year, he told TAP, adding that it could include up to a million digitized books.

About one million readers could access this library simultaneously, he pointed out.

Yaiche indicated that this project, implemented by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry, will mobilize all resources such as books, scientific works, courses, PhD theses in a unified digitized system and make them available to students in t
hree languages (Arabic, French and English).

A computer with ultra-fast performance was made available, this week, at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research which will enable the use of this digital library, he added.

Users will be entitled to free and open access to the content of this digital library, while the management of resources and content has been entrusted to scientific committees composed of academics and academicians under the Ministry of Higher Education

A digital platform will promote debates between students and teachers and provide a summary of works in the various disciplines, he noted.
