African Air Chiefs Symposium kicks off in Tunis

The African Air Chiefs Symposium began on Monday at the El Aouina air base in the presence of 13 African delegations, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defence.

The aim of the symposium is to examine the mechanisms needed to enhance joint action between African countries and to build bridges of communication between them in order to strengthen their human and technical capabilities in the field of aviation.

“This is in line with the Ministry’s vision to make Tunisia, and in particular its armed forces, a pole of training at regional and continental level in many fields”.

In this context, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force called for the intensification of efforts to establish a new project for fruitful cooperation between African countries, within the framework of bilateral or multilateral military cooperation, based on mutual trust and common interest.

The symposium, which is being held for the first time in Tunisia, will last until October 6, according to a recent statement by the Ministry of Defence. It will include visits for the benefit of the delegations participating in the symposium to some of the Air Force’s training institutions and centres, such as the Borj El Amri Aviation School and the School of Air Specialities.

Working sessions and discussions will also be organised on some of the possibilities available at the level of training in technical and leadership specialities. The aim is to get to know the level reached by the Tunisian Air Force in the field of training and to identify the latest means used for distance learning and information technologies in this sector.
