Cape town: The nominees for the African Energy Week (AEW) 2026 recognize the companies, projects, and individuals driving innovation, investment, and growth across Africa's energy sector. Featuring 12 categories spanning the full energy value chain, the awards celebrate the achievements shaping the continent's energy future. According to African Press Organization, winners will be announced during the AEW 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, taking place on Tuesday, October 13, in Cape Town. The ceremony will bring together ministers, industry leaders, investors, and technology providers to recognize excellence in upstream, downstream, gas, power, local content, technology, and corporate leadership. In the category of African Service Provider of the Year, notable nominees include GeoEnergy Group for their work in advancing digital transformation through the Egypt Upstream Gateway and One Titanium for delivering specialized services supporting Africa's energy industry. Other contenders are KAESO, SONILS, an d NIPEX, recognized for their contributions to engineering, logistics, and procurement within the sector. For the International Service Provider of the Year, nominees such as NOV and Geoex MCG highlight their support of major energy developments with advanced engineering and seismic data acquisition, respectively. Africa Global Logistics, Technip Energies, SBM Offshore, and SLB are also in contention, credited for their roles in delivering logistics, engineering expertise, and advanced technologies across Africa. The Local Content Champion category celebrates both African and international companies. Seplat Energy, Copia Group of Companies, and Renaissance Africa Energy are among the African companies recognized for promoting local talent and participation. On the international front, TotalEnergies Uganda, NOV, Woodside Energy, and Africa Global Logistics are acknowledged for fostering local workforce development and supplier participation. The EandP Leader of the Year category features Shell for its disco veries in Namibia and Egypt, along with Renaissance Africa Energy and NNPCL for their achievements in Nigeria. Murphy Oil, Eni, and OMV with Libya's National Oil Corporation are also nominated for their notable discoveries and resource base expansions in Africa. In the refining and pipeline sectors, the Dangote Refinery, Cabinda Oil Refinery, East African Crude Oil Pipeline, and African Atlantic Gas Pipeline are recognized for their transformative roles in refining capacity and strategic energy infrastructure development. For the Deal of the Year, notable transactions include Trafigura's $1 billion oil prepayment agreement with Gabon and Levene Energies' acquisition of a stake in Axxela. Heirs Energies and UTM FLNG are also highlighted for their significant stakes and development agreements. The CSR Project of the Year acknowledges Mozambique LNG, South African National Petroleum Company, Kosmos Energy Ghana, Sonangol, Eni, and Oando Foundation for their impactful community and educational initiatives acro ss Africa. In the Gas Monetization Award category, Levene Energies, NOV APL Norway, Congo LNG, and Amufert are recognized for their efforts in advancing gas commercialization and industrial development. Lastly, the Technology Innovator and Power Africa Developer categories celebrate TotalEnergies, SOLA Group, Shearwater, TGS and Starlink, Siemens Energy, Globeleq, and Infinity Power for their technological advancements and contributions to renewable energy development across the continent.
