Aid Program Disburses Over AKZ 4 Billion in Malanje


Malanje: The Social Monetary Transfer Program (Kwenda) has successfully disbursed 4.7 billion kwanzas to support needy families in the northern region of Malanje since its launch in July 2020, as reported by Gomes Golambole, the director of the Institute for Local Development (FAS).



According to Angola Press News Agency, Golambole noted that the program has positively impacted 56,000 households across 1,670 villages in 13 municipalities. The latest round of payments reached 4,800 families in the Micanda and Cahombo municipalities, with a total disbursement of 32.2 million kwanzas. Each household received two payments, amounting to 66,000 kwanzas.



Furthermore, the initial payments to families residing in the communities of Cambo-Sunjinje, Banje-a-Ngola, and Kiwaba Nzoji are set to commence in the coming days. In the Malanje region, the Kwenda program is supported by 245 Community and Health Development Agents (ADECOS) and 60 technicians from FAS and municipal administrations.
