According to Angola Press News Agency, Albino Malungo described Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos as a patriot of unquestionable quality, a parliamentary leader convinced of his values, and an easy-going citizen, whose political legacy inspired several generations in the former People's Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola (FAPLA), the National Police, and Parliament.

The diplomat emphasized that, as an intrepid fighter of the FAPLA and leader of the National Police, Nando built a trajectory that affirms him as a unique figure in the contemporary history of Angola. The statement adds that Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos played a decisive role in the consolidation of democracy and national reconciliation process, always defending national unity, without distinction of religious creed, party affiliation, or region of origin.
