Luanda: Angolan and Chinese parliamentary authorities are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in Beijing on Friday aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the parliamentary field.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the President of Angola's National Assembly, Ado de Almeida, has been in China since Wednesday on an official visit that will continue until September 17. The memorandum will be signed following a bilateral meeting between Ado de Almeida and China's Zhao Leji. The agreement seeks to enhance interparliamentary cooperation, foster political dialogue, and improve mutual understanding between the two nations.
The memorandum outlines commitments to deepen parliamentary ties and promote institutional exchanges, thereby strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Republic of Angola and the People's Republic of China.
As part of the visit's program, Ado de Almeida paid a courtesy visit to the Angolan Embassy in Beijing. He was received by Angola's ambassador to China, Dalva Ringote, and toured the embassy's facilities. This visit provided the delegation with insights into the operations and activities of the Angolan diplomatic mission in China.
During this visit, Ado de Almeida signed the Embassy's Book of Honour, leaving a message commemorating the Angolan parliamentary delegation's visit. The agenda also included a courtesy meeting and a restricted institutional briefing with Ambassador Dalva Ringote and other participants. They discussed the embassy's main activities, the current state of Angola-China relations, and other bilateral interests.
