Angola and Germany Forge Tourism Cooperation Agreement

Berlin:Angola has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German Travel Association (Deutscher Reiseverband - DRV) to enhance tourist arrivals and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the agreement was finalized between Angola's Institute for Tourism Development (INFOTUR) and the leadership of DRV. This partnership seeks to foster collaboration between Angolan and German tour operators, travel agencies, and industry stakeholders, facilitating easier cross-border travel and the exchange of knowledge.

The signing of this memorandum capitalizes on the momentum from Angola's prominent role as the host country for ITB Berlin 2026, which significantly raised its profile among European travelers. The agreement underscores the importance of tourism as a key driver for economic growth and cultural exchange, aligning with the government's broader strategy to attract international visitors and translate partnerships into domestic economic benefits.

Through this initiative, Angola's Ministry of Tourism aims to reinforce the country's position as an emerging travel destination, leveraging strategic alliances to support long-term development in the tourism sector.
