Luanda: Angola and Germany are gearing up for the forthcoming Session of the Bilateral Commission in Luanda, aimed at evaluating the current state of relations between the two nations and pinpointing new areas of mutual interest.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the agenda was discussed on Monday (10) in Luanda during an audience granted by Angola's Minister of Foreign Affairs, T©te Ant³nio, to the German Ambassador to Angola, Stefan Traumann. This meeting provided an opportunity to explore ways of enhancing and diversifying bilateral cooperation, primarily in political, economic, and trade sectors, alongside updating and reinforcing the legal frameworks governing the relations between the two countries.
In economic discussions, the importance of boosting trade, fostering private investment, and creating new partnership avenues between Angolan and German enterprises was underscored. Potential cooperation sectors identified include agriculture, technical and vocational training, transport, and culture.
The meeting also addressed migration concerns, focusing on the situation of Angolan citizens residing irregularly in Germany. The discussions emphasized the need for handling potential return issues through dialogue and cooperation between the relevant authorities of both nations, in alignment with their legal frameworks.
Angola and Germany have shared diplomatic ties since 1979, with bilateral cooperation spanning various domains rooted in political dialogue and a mutual interest in deepening their relationship. The upcoming Bilateral Commission Session is anticipated to offer a platform to evaluate progress, explore new cooperation sectors, and invigorate political-diplomatic, economic, and trade relations between Angola and Germany.
