Angola Invited for ECAM Council 2026 in New York

Luanda: Angola was invited on Thursday to participate, at the highest level, in the 8th Meeting of the European Business Council for Africa and the Middle East (ECAM Council), scheduled for September of this year in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the invitation, addressed to the President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o, as guest of honor and keynote speaker, was delivered to the Permanent Representative of Angola to the United Nations, Francisco Jos© da Cruz, during a meeting with representatives of The European House - Ambrosetti (TEHA) and GKSD Investment Holding.

The meeting served to strengthen institutional dialogue between the parties and identify new opportunities for cooperation in strategic sectors. During the meeting, representatives from TEHA and GKSD Investment Holding presented the ECAM Council, an international platform for strategic dialogue that brings together heads of state, leaders of international organizations, business leaders, and experts to discuss economic and geostrategic challenges in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

The institutions also expressed interest in deepening cooperation with Angola in the areas of health, investment, innovation, and economic development, with a focus on establishing partnerships between the public and private sectors.

In this context, they proposed a high-level bilateral meeting between the President of the Republic of Angola and the leadership of GKSD Investment Holding, Gruppo San Donato, and the ECAM Council, with a view to identifying concrete investment and cooperation opportunities.

The meeting also allowed for the exploration of new perspectives for collaboration and reaffirmed the shared interest in strengthening international partnerships capable of boosting investment, promoting innovation, and contributing to the sustainable development of Angola.
