Luanda: Angola now has its first independent certification for the automotive sector. A project called "Car of the Year - 5-Star Automobile" has been recently launched by ESKAPE magazine and Escolha do Consumidor Angola (ECAO), aiming to evaluate automobiles sold in the national market.
According to Angola Press News Agency, this initiative introduces an independent certification designed to provide consumers with crucial information about car offerings, enabling them to make informed decisions. The first winners of the "Car of the Year" award and models distinguished with the "5-Star Automobile" seal will be announced on December 11th during a gala event in Luanda. Following the gala, there will be a week-long public exhibition showcasing the certified and award-winning vehicles.
The initiative aims to contribute to informed consumer choices by evaluating cars based on common criteria. The certification process combines analysis by industry experts with consumer participation, focusing on five pillars: "Satisfaction through Experience," "Intrinsic Quality," "Price/Quality Ratio," "Relevant Added Value," and "Trust and Compliance." The evaluation includes driving tests, technical data analysis, quality verification, and consumer involvement.
The jury for this certification consists of automotive sector experts, including representatives from the National Land Transport Agency, under a protocol with ECAO. To receive the "5-Star Car" seal, models must achieve a rating of 7 or higher on a scale of 0 to 10. Among the certified vehicles, those with the highest scores in each segment will be recognized as "Car of the Year" in their respective categories.
The "Car of the Year - 5-Star Automobile" Gala will convene brands, importers, official representatives, institutional partners, and media outlets, marking a significant milestone in Angola's automotive industry.
