Davos: Angola participates on Tuesday in Davos, Switzerland, in the GTF - Global Tourism Forum, which brings together high-ranking individuals to discuss issues related to this sector worldwide. The Angolan delegation, headed by the minister of Planning, Victor Hugo Guilherme, includes the minister of Tourism, Márcio Daniel. According to Angola Press News Agency, the event was conceived as a high-level decision-making platform, which aims to position tourism, not as a sectoral discussion, but as a strategic pillar of global economic resilience, investment, diplomacy and geopolitical relevance. It states that the format prioritizes interaction between peers and strategic alignment, to the detriment of traditional conference structures. The GTF Davos 2026 brings together Presidents, heads of government, ministers and senior global executives, during the week of the World Economic Forum, which takes place from the 19th to the 23rd of the current month. The 2026 Annual Davos Meeting, themed "A Spirit of Dialogu e: Addressing Geopolitical Uncertainties, Trade Tensions and the Need for Cooperation," will bring together approximately three thousand leaders from various sectors from more than 130 countries. The event is expected to be attended by 400 high-level political leaders, including about 65 heads of state and government and six G7 leaders, as well as nearly 850 of the world's leading CEOs and company presidents, and close to 100 startups and technology pioneers. The meeting's discussions focus on five key global challenges: cooperation in a challenging world, unlocking new sources of growth, investing in people, responsible implementation of innovation, and building prosperity within planetary boundaries.
