Luanda: Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António reaffirmed the country's commitment to expanding and diversifying diplomatic ties with other states, aiming for a more united, resilient, and developed Africa. This declaration was made during the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Angola and African countries, referred to as the golden jubilee. Téte António emphasized that Angola's efforts will inspire other nations to pursue the best solutions for the continent. According to Angola Press News Agency, in the past 50 years, Angola has experienced significant transformations at diplomatic, political, economic, and social levels. The minister stated that these changes have posed immense challenges to maintaining the nation's integrity and sovereignty. The history of the past five decades, marked by victories, mourning, and constant challenges, has been overcome through diplomatic cooperation. The minister praised the bravery and dynamism of past Angolan presidents and t he current Head of State, Joo Lourenço, for their efforts in gathering international solidarity and support to ensure self-determination. Angola has been instrumental in seeking solutions to African conflicts through collaboration with other countries, emphasizing respect and constructive dialogue in line with the founding texts of the UN, OAU, and AU. Over the last five decades, Angola has consolidated historical relations with several countries, supported by numerous successful achievements. These have contributed to strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including industry, agriculture, health, education, energy, and many others. The ambassador of the Republic of Congo, David Madouka, representing African diplomats, emphasized the organization's commitment to solidarity, peace, security, and sustainable development. He highlighted Angola's strategic role as a mediator in the Great Lakes region and Central Africa, transforming political freedom into social justice and tackling challenges like unemployment, corruption, and political distrust. Madouka also noted that relations between Angola and African states were forged in the struggle for liberation, consolidated through various cooperation agreements. He emphasized Angola's significant roles as Liberator, Regional Mediator, and Stabilizer in Africa, and its status as the second-largest oil producer in Sub-Saharan Africa. Angola's involvement in regional security and strategic projects, such as the Lobito Corridor, was also highlighted. The dean of the African Group, ambassador of Mauritania, Mohamed Ebade, congratulated the Government of Angola on the fiftieth anniversary, reflecting Angola's central focus on African integration. The meeting, attended by ambassadors from numerous African countries, underscored the desire for greater consolidation and strengthening of diplomatic relations, aiming for progress and prosperity for the people.
